Pingo Prepaid Calling Cards

Thursday, November 2nd, 2006

I travel a couple of times a year and love a holiday in the sun but I cringe at the thought of my mobile phone bill as I’m on the plane home. I came across a website today that offers a prepaid calling card service that can save a lot of money on long distance calls. What’s more, if you sign up to their site you’ll receive $5.00 worth of free calls.

Australia calling card rates are as little as 2.2¢per minute from the US and 4.2¢per minute from the UK. To find out more about the International prepaid calling cards they offer visit their website.

Pink car seat covers!

Monday, October 16th, 2006

Pink car seat coversI recently wrote a post on Pink Sat Nav to help brighten up your car and add that girly touch – well if that just wasn’t enough for you then why not add these pink car seat covers too! They stretch to fit nearly all small to medium cars and are available in pink with a cream trim or cream with a pink trim.

They look pretty snug too which is great for the winter – and at £48 from Fabstuff they’re not unreasonably priced. I guess it depends how girly you want your car to be …

Cheap UK holiday deals

Wednesday, October 11th, 2006

On the BeachI discovered a website today that I thought was worth a mention for all you English holiday makers. On the Beach Holidays is a travel agent specialising in offering cheap holidays from the UK. This includes flights, hotels, ski packages and sun packages to popular tourist destinations like Spain, Egypt, Greece, Turkey and many more. If you’re not a fan of package holidays you are able to create your own holiday by selecting flights and accommodation separately.

If I’d known about this website last year I could have saved money on my holiday to Gran Canaria. I just searched for a flight in December which is when I went last year and they are as little as £64 return.

Sat Nav at Currys

Tuesday, October 10th, 2006

TomTom Sat NavAfter getting lost in the town next to mine last week I realised it was time to get myself some decent Sat Nav. I spent a while browsing on the Internet and ended up looking at the range of Sat Nav from Currys. They have a good variety of products, some very reasonably priced and some more expensive top of the range products. After an extensive elimination process I bought a new TomTom for £199.99 and am extremely pleased with my new buy. It was ready to use straight away so hopefully I’ll be able to find my way home from now on.

Check out the Curry’s website for more information about Sat Nav products, they have some offers that aren’t available in stores.

London Tourist Attractions

London Tourist AttractionsA couple of months ago we wrote a post on Rediscovering London – many tourists come over here especially to see the famous attractions and yet for those of us who live here, we can’t seem to find the energy to make a special effort to actually go ourselves.

We may wander past while in London but if you’re like me, actually visiting them all is something I’d like to do but never got around to booking!

I’ve just come across a great map of London tourist attractions so now there’s no excuse not to go and see what all the fuss is about! The map allows you to plan your route so you can fit in as much as possible.

ghd Christmas gift sets

Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006

ghd gift setIt’s October 3rd, two and a half months from Christmas but I have already come across many websites who are getting ready for the X-mas season. One that caught my eye today was the ghd website who currently have gift sets for him or her that you can pre-order. The sets are a handy size especially if you are travelling in the holiday period.

The gift for girls consists of a cream leather bag with a new ghd styler and 5 travel size thermodynamics products. These include a shampoo, conditioner, opulence mask, thermal protector and obedience cream. The whole set costs £155. The guys set comes with a brown leather bag, mini styler, tenderness shampoo, thermal protector, texture lotion and sculpting wax. This set is £130. So if you too are thinking about prezzies already and are stuck for that special someone, ghd could be the answer to your prayers!

London Fashion Weekend

Thursday, September 21st, 2006

London Fashion WeekLondon Fashion Week is in full swing so I visited the natural history museum yesterday to get a peak at what was going on around there. Unfortunately I didn’t get too close to the party by flashing my “new pink journo” status and ended up looking at a bunch of old bones instead. However, I’m please to say that I’ve discovered a way that we fashion mortals can get a piece of fashion week fun. London Fashion Weekend is taking place between 27th of September and 1st October. There will be plenty of stalls displaying the latest new trends, including Lulu Guinness, Agent Provocateur, Ronit Zikha and Jasper Conran. Toni and Guy, Elizabeth Arden and the Superdrug nail bar will be there to ensure you are styled up to LFW standard, and you can enjoy the official champagne of LFW at the Moet Bar.

If you are interested in getting tickets visit tickets are ten pounds. Or get exclusive opening night (Wednesday the 27th) tickets for 15 pounds from Grazia magazine and £5.50 will be donated to Fashion Targets Breast Cancer® UK.

The Gran Guadalpin Hotel – Marbella

Wednesday, September 20th, 2006

Hotel Gvadalpin MarbellaSpain is a great place to visit this September if your summer tan is already fading. Marbella is the richest town in Spain and a famous playground for the wealthy, but a holiday there doesn’t have to leave you with a hole in your pocket. The Gran Guadalpin is a great hotel with the best facilities around and it doesn’t cost a fortune. There are actually two Guadalpin hotels around Marbella. Guadapin Banus is a short walk from the glamourous port, Puerto Banus, which is teaming with three story yachts, fast cars, and designer stores. The hotel is quite trendy with a court yard pool which overlooks the sea.

There is a free taxi between this hotel and the Gudalpin in marbella’s golden mile. This hotel is my favourite of the two but is more family orientated. It has a large outdoor area with a great pool and impressive 50ft palm trees. The suites are really spacious and come with hot tubs and massive verandas. The buffet breakfast at this hotel was one of the best hotel breakfasts I have experienced and the spa is definitely worth a visit – I recommend the deep cleansing facial. If you are looking for a really good value book this hotel with three friends and share a two bedroom suite.

Pink satnav!

Wednesday, September 20th, 2006

Cartrek 400For all you girly girls out there, here’s a great accessory for your car! Cartrek’s new satnav not only looks great but is simple to use so there’s no need for wasting time on long instruction manuals or annoying downloads. Simply plug it in, switch it on and you’re ready to hit the road. For the not so girly girls the Cartrek 400’s also available in black – but I personally love the pink!

It’s already a best seller in Europe and now for the first time, it’s available in the UK. Not only will it guide you around the UK, but also includes maps of the whole of Europe and speaks 13 languages. For £249 this is a must-have gadget to brighten up your car.

Hands-Free Umbrella

Tuesday, September 19th, 2006

Hands-Free UmbrellaWhen I first saw this I thought how useful it looked – the amount of times I’ve tried to hold my bag, my umbrella, answer my mobile, find my keys etc. I end up in a state with the umbrella usually drooped on the floor and me left soaking wet. Then I thought about it some more and realised I’d probably look pretty funny with this huge attachment on my arm – it would be a perfect invention if it was a tad more subtle!

I’m not really sure how you close the umbrella without getting wet either – I can imagine myself trapped inside as it shuts and being in a worse state than with a normal umbrella – perhaps it might be best to stick to a hood! For only $7.99 I think this may be worth a try though (for the entertainment factor at least).
