Skullcandy Ti Headphones

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

skullcandy.JPGCheck these out - funky pink headphones that double up as ear muffs ready for those long cold days we have recently been experiencing.

I’m not normally a fan of large headphones, I much prefer the subtle look of my iPod earphones that are thin, white and hide away nicely in your ear, but I have to admit there is something very appealing about Skullcandy. I think it could be the fun pink colour, the use of fur and the fact that they actually look and give the same quality as pro DJ style headsets that I find so irresistible.

Get these over your ears and keep warm whilst bopping. Experience how music should sound and log on to www.catapult.co.uk and get your very own Skullcandy for £52.99.

Freemasons cover Alanis

Friday, October 26th, 2007

I’ve fallen back in love with pop music so I’m afraid you are going to have to listen to me rave about the latest chart hits on this blog for a while, as well as how fit Mark Ronson is! My absolute favourite track at the moment is Freemason’s cover of Alanis Morrisette’s little known song Uninvited. The original track can be found on Alanis’s MTV Unplugged Live CD and is an amazing song. Hopefully this cover will bring it the recognition it deserves. The lyrics which are about reservations we all feel about letting ourselves succumb to a new admirer are what make this song, but the music is also very dark and powerful.

The Freemasons remix retains all the moody harmonies while giving the song new impetus with a sexy driving beat. Bailey Tzuke has replaced Alanis’s on this cover. She has been hailed as the new joss stone and is usually found playing folksy keyboard music and supporting Rufus Wainwright. Her voice is more pretty and girly than Alanis’s which helps the transition of this cover into the typical dance genre. I think this is a really successful remix and is bound to be one of the dance anthems of the year.

Kylie’s Back and She’s in Love!

Friday, October 26th, 2007

Kylie is back and better than ever before. Her new single 2 Hearts is released on Paralphone on the 5th Nov and takes Kylie in a slightly new direction. Her new album still retains a dance feel but with a new electro vibe. The 2 Hearts single has been compared to recent Goldfrapp releases but this track has a darker gothic feeling to it.

The electro four piece band who work with kylie on this single are UK based Kish Mauve. They look amazing in Goth transvestite gear. I love the way the pianist flings away his chair and plays the piano standing up whilst head banging for the rest of the song. Kylie of course also looks fantastic, especially in the all in one cat-suit. I love her debauched semi-sober style in this video. This song really brings out the Goth in me.

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

Pink iPod NanoOver the past year or so I have seen so many new versions of Apple iPod’s I just didn’t realise how cheap the older ones were. The 4 GB iPod Nano has up to 24 hours of music play back, stores up to 1000 songs and up to 25,000 images, ranging in colours from hot pink, green, blue and silver. A must buy in my opinion.

Kanye West V’s 50 Cent

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

50 Cent CurtisLet the battle commence as 50 Cent and Kanye West both released an album on the same day - yesterday to be precise.

Most artists release albums around the same time as their rivals as a publicity stunt, however this is definatley a bigger battle than most, in fact 50 Cent is supposedley betting his whole entire rap future that he will beat Kanye West’s album sales. He threatens to no longer perform if his sales are beaten - a bit extreme I think you will all agree.

Kanye West GraduationSo who will win - 50 Cent with ‘Curtis’ or Kanye West with ‘Graduation’, who will have the last laugh ay?? I’ve heard a sample from each album and I have to say that Kanye West would get my vote everytime!

Britney Spears Makes a Come Back

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

After a traumatic six years of constant press battles, apparent public break downs, a well publicised stint in rehab, a failed marriage, two children and according to reports on going court battles, Britney Spears is ready to make a come back. Her new single ‘Gimme More’ is another sexy, sassy hit similar to her last album ‘In the Zones’ music, ‘Early Morning’ and ‘Outrageous’ I think.

The new song premiered at the MTV Music Awards 2007 in Las Vegas. Spears performed the song in a bra and French knickers and looked as gorgeous as ever. Although critics slammed her performance for being weak and lip synching, they commended the song as have most other reviewers who heard the song that was leaked on the internet before it’s time. Spears further coming album is scheduled for a November 2007 release and hopes to be a hit, rumours are that Spears has worked with Timberland and former beau Justin Timberlake. I hope, like others that it will be a success and she will have a great future in the industry, good luck Brit!

iPod Hoodies!

Thursday, August 9th, 2007

iPod HoodieYou know the world has gone mad when gadgets are designed their very own clothes! However, (as much as I hate to admit it) I actually find these iPod Hoodies extremely cute!

I guess the reason for clothes in the first place is to protect and keep warm? Clearly iPods don’t need to be kept warm but they do need protecting. I can’t even count the number of times I’ve dropped mine or scratched it - this hoodie could have kept it looking brand new.

If nothing else, these hoodies are sure to be a great conversation starter at the gym!! You can even choose between different designs, including the ‘All loved up’ Edition! Get yours from ipodhoodie.co.uk.
