I love baking, especially cupcakes, and I’m always on the lookout for new recipe books. I recently got The Cupcake Book by Susannah Tee, and after some rigorous testing (and much cake eating) I can confirm that Susannah’s recipes are delicious.

The book is split into three sections, including one dedicated entirely to chocolate. There are also some healthier recipes, including delicious Banana and Honey cupcakes and Blueberry Muffins. And if that’s not enough to whet your appetite there are some beautiful cupcake pictures in the book, as well as hints and tips on cooking equipment and decorating.

The recipes are easy to follow but be warned – they make big cupcakes! You need to use muffin cases rather than fairy cake size cases, and most of the recipes make one and half dozen. Luckily though they also work perfectly fine when halved.

Pick up a copy for only £5.46 from Amazon and get baking!

Choxi+ was created by chocolatiers ‘Prestat’ and apparently contains more flavanol antioxidants that any other type of food including fruit and veg. This helps maintain healthy blood pressure and cholesterol levels and Prestat recommend eating 10g every day – sounds good to me!

The larger bars (70g/75g) can be bought in large Tesco Stores around the UK and you can also currently purchase them in specific stores in London including Selfridges in Oxford Street. A new Choxi+ Dark Chocolate 20g Mini Bar and Milk Chocolate 25g Mini Bar will be available from July.

Now you won’t feel quite so naughty when you feel the urge to indulge! Visit the Prestat Website for more information about this tasty little treat.

We all know how tedious supermarket shopping can be. Stocking up on toilet roll and bread is never going to be a thrill-fest but happily there are certain aisles that can bring a smile to our face. One such aisle is the ice cream one and imagine our excitement at noticing a new flavour of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream called Baked Alaska.

This new naughty treat is described as “vanilla ice cream” (yum) “with marshmallow swirls” (yummier) “and white chocolatey polar bears” (yummiest!) White chocolate is a much more delicate taste than its darker counterparts and can get overwhelmed by stronger flavours, but here it assumes centre stage in the form of polar bears – woohoo! Ben and Jerry’s have long seemed like the more imaginative, weird option compared to Haagen Dazs’ more sophisticated and adult image, yet with such novel and tasty ways to scoff ice cream – who cares how it’s packaged or advertised? Just get stuck in!

To learn more about this and other delicious flavours of Ben and Jerry’s ice creams and frozen yoghurts, visit their website (no calories included!)

The creation in question is a bottle of champagne upside down.

The Dutch duo renowned for their fashion designs can turn their hands at anything and have recently followed Stella McCartney and Karl Lagerfeld by designing a collection for Swedish brand H&M. The sophisticated and iconic object that is a champagne bottle has been reinterpreted and then made into a fantastic form of art.

The 75cl bottle of Rosé Sauvage Champagne is available in Harvey Nichols wine shops priced at £50 and will make a fabulous collectable ornament once you drank the champagne.

For some this signifies a time of religious observance, while for others it is simply a break from work and a chance to scoff chocolate. The television schedules are sure to be full of family-friendly films, one-off specials and so put your feet up, relax and enjoy the foodie treats associated with the occasion. These include, most famously, chocolate Easter eggs (we picked our favourites at Hotel Chocolat and Thorntons), along with hot cross buns and Simnel cake.

Sainsbury’s offer a range of Easter-inspired food, both savoury and sweet, that’ll be sure to please adults and children alike, while hunting for eggs is a fun way to work off all those naughty calories. For recipes, special offers and all Easter food, skip on over to the Sainsbury’s website to decide what you’ll be chowing down on over the break.
