Before Simon Pegg delved into films and sold his soul to Hollywood - his next film sees him starring alongside Kirsten Dunst - he was responsible for one of the best British comedy series. It’s hard to believe, but Spaced graced our screens nearly a decade ago now, although it’s hard to find another comedy series that’s topped it since.
Starring and written by Simon Pegg and Jessica Stevenson, the pair play two strangers who pose as a couple in order to rent a flat, and focuses around them, their friends and their neighbours. It’s laden with pop culture references, but you don’t need to be a complete film or movie swot to get them. Each episode is also based on at least on film, including Star Wars and The Sixth Sense. Despite this surreal angle, the sitcom is surprisingly believable and true to life, featuring characters we’ve all come across at some point.
This Definitive Collectors’ Edition features both series of Spaced, as well as loads of extras. If you’ve never seen Spaced before don’t bother with buying just one season, you can pick up the whole lot for just over £15 and I guarantee you’ll want to watch it all!
Spaced - Definitive Collectors’ Edition is available as part of Amazon’s Autumn Deals for only £15.97.

Whilst we might finally be experiencing a taste of summer this week, it’s inevitably going to come to a soggy end this weekend, and the shorts will be packed away again for who knows how long.
As a result of the definite lack of hot weather this year, most of us stuck in lovely old Blighty will have been reaching for a jumper rather than a halter neck recently. But every cloud, no matter how grey, has a silver lining, and this year’s summer sales are some of the best we’ve had in years, full of top notch summer clothes that we just didn’t want to buy, now available with massive reductions.
If you’re jetting off for some summer sun, or just plain optimistic, get rifling because there are bargains to be had. Topshop in particular have huge reductions across all ranges, including Kate Moss and the vintage ranges available in the flagship store on Oxford Street. I recently spotted a Christopher Kane dress reduced from £120 to £20.

Fashion wise it’s a strange time of year. We might be only days away from May, but in the UK the weather swings unpredictably between cold, dark and wet winter conditions and bright, warm summer sunshine. So, how to dress when you can’t know if you’ll need an umbrella or sunglasses? Not to worry readers, as TopShop is here to help with a mid-season sale. This collection includes over 650 lines and ensures that you can nab a cosy woolly or a flimsy summer top depending on your needs.
So often it seems that stores bring out the naff items that have long clogged up the shop for seasons, but having had a serious snoop, we’re happy to say how impressed we are with the range available. Among the stock is this gem of a bargain – a gorgeous floral, pastel tea dress with frill detail that has been reduced from £45 to £20.
To nab your own sales snip, head on over to the online store or head for your nearest TopShop.

Here at The New Pink, we love a bargain. Nothing beats that feeling of grabbing something for a fraction of its original selling price – not even a bath full of chocolate or Brad Pitt proposing marriage (okay, maybe that last one). And for those interested in pocketing some pennies while kitting out their boudoirs, chain store The Pier has announced it is continuing its spring sale. For house-proud ladies, The Pier has become a brand known for its eclectic multi-cultural range, top-notch quality and steep prices. However, now with reductions up to 30% there are plenty of bargains to grab, with our favourite this wire round butterfly mirror.
Made in China, the mirror, a new addition to the store’s stock is 46 x 46cm. The delicate butterflies provide a feminine touch, ensuring that even something as everyday and functional as a mirror can be beautiful and elegant. The mirror was originally priced at £39, but has had its price slashed to only £19. To nab this and other Pier treats, head on over to the official site.

This season is all about showing off your zips and being part of the Zip Code!!
This latest trend is all about looking tough and hardware is the key. Get your hands on biker jackets with metal zip pockets and zip-up shapeless shifts. Apparently chunky metal and bright zips are the most effective, whether it be boots, jackets or even a hardwear clutch. The usually concealed zip needs to be on show so bold colours and black set it off well.
I’ve managed to find this fab Black Shearling Zip coat from Wallis. It’s a mock sheepskin effect with a funnel neck and zip fastening. Best of all it’s been reduced half price in the good old January sale so you could be zipping up for just £35.00. Buy online or in store.

I’m not a huge fan of books, in fact its a rare occasion if you see me engrossed in a good novel unless I’m sunbathing on the beach or relaxing by the pool. However my fiance recently bought me a selection of Little Black Dress Books and I have been absolutely hooked. The first one I read was called The Batchalorette Party, a romantic comedy about a bride to be who has one or two secrets that all spill out on her drunken hen night. A great read for any girl who fancies a few chuckles to herself.
I have just finished my second novel in the collection entitled Sex, Lies and Online Dating. After reading the first few chapters a month or so ago I can’t say it really grabbed me but after reading the third chapter I could not put it down. The book follows two lives, a mystery writer called Lucy and an undercover detective named Quinn. They meet online and decide to set up a date, Lucy needs inspiration for her latest book and Quinn has a murder case to solve that the police think Lucy is linked to due to the relationship between her stories and the actual murders.
This novel isn’t half as funny as The Batchelorette Party but is such a fantastic read. You are right there as their relationship develops into much more than just a coffee date and you will be guessing who the murderer is the whole way through. I guessed who it was about 3/4 of the way through!
Sex, Lies and Online Dating is written by Rachel Gibson and is available at Amazon for the bargain price of £3.49 - a perfect stocking filler!

It is essential to invest in your Christmas gifts for others early, so making good use of the offers around at the moment is a good idea.

Laura Ashley is offering 3 for 2 on selected home ware furnishings, the ideal gifts for female relatives. Perhaps some elegant cocktail or wine glasses would be a lovely gift, very practical and in red are ideal for the season. The Red Lustre Dot Cocktail Glass is £7 as is the Red Lustre Dot Wine Glass and ordering a set of 3 would benefit you as you would only pay for 2. Or how about this Fabulous 3 Tiered Mirrored Cake Stand, an original gift, decorative and also practical, costing £28. The cake stand is also available on the 3 for 2, but there is so much more to choose from.

I know it’s been around for a long time but I love it and it’s only £5.47! Ricky Gervais is hilarious and when he teams up with celebrities it just compliments his fantastic sense of humour.
Enjoy Ricky Gervais, with famous actors such as Kate Winslet, Les Dennis, Patrick Stewart, Ben Stiller and Samuel L. Jackson to name a few, who act on set while Gervais perseveres on as an extra.
At the moment it is available at Amazon for just £5.47 with free delivery if you spend more that £15, ideal for a Christmas present or a comedy fix. Extras series 2 is also available at Amazon costing £14.98.
