You’re probably all aware of OneRepublic because of the uber-successful single, ‘Apologize’, a collaboration with Timbaland, but have you heard their other music?
The American based band from Colorado, are huge across the pond and will be just as big here. The new album titled ‘Dreaming Out Loud’ from OneRepublic will be released on the 10th of March 2008 and hosts some brilliant songs. The new ‘Stop and Stare’ song is great and available to purchase on iTunes now, but listen to ‘All We Are’ – its amazing. Similar to Snow Patrol their music is easy to listen and chill out to.
For some, the Oscars is just industry back-slapping dragged out for hours, but here at The New Pink we love the fashion, the drama and the spectacle of Hollywood’s most glamourous night. The Coen brothers stole the show picking up Best Picture, Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay for their western No Country for Old Men, while the film’s scary star Javier Bardem walked off with the Best Supporting Actor gong.
Elsewhere hot favourite Daniel Day-Lewis followed up his BAFTA win with the Oscar for Best Male for There Will Be Blood. Bio-pics are always popular with Academy voters and suitably French actress Marion Cotillard beat Brit Julie Christie to win Best Female for her depiction of Edith Piaf. Tilda Swinton flew the flag though, picking up a Best Supporting Actress award for her performance in legal drama Michael Clayton. Disney-Pixar scooped the animated prize for Ratatouille, while The Bourne Ultimatum took home three technical awards.
I had been trying to avoid everything to do with Sex and the City: The Movie. Such is my intense love, worship and commitment to the HBO series that I wanted to remain in blissful ignorance until its premiere in the Spring – that was until this trailer hit the Internet. Could I live with myself knowing that new SATC material was out there and I hadn’t seen it? Of course not.
And that’s why we bring all you SATC devotees, NYC lovers and budding fashionistas this fantastic new look at the year’s most highly anticipated chick flick. Warning: the clip does contain revealing and ominous plot spoilers, so beware. For those of us brave enough to watch, isn’t it great to see Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda back together again? Come May, the girls will officially be back in town again!
Once again Mothers Day has come round again and once again I’m stuck on what to get my mother. Living away from home does not make it any easier when trying to give a gift of love so I’ve copped out and let myself head to the flower delivery websites.
After a good look around, Interflora happen to have a pretty selection of Mother’s Day gifts and flowers which can be sent right to the door. Ranging from around £23 to £65 there is a gift for many price barriers. I love the Tulip Splash Jug, at £24.99 it won’t break the bank, provides a lot of colour and is pretty on the eye.
Check out Interflora online to see what your mum would like this Mothers Day, remember its only just over a week away.
The new collection for MAC make up follows the long line of successful and edgy looks the famous brand has consistanly released.
The said new collection is titled the N Collection/Colour, described on the companies website as ‘seductive and ripe for scandal’. That being said it’s a statement that is true. The new line takes pale pink and natural shades to new levels. Think pale skin with a light coloured sheen on your cheeks, pale eyeshadow and neutral gossy lips. Then follow up this look with dark eyes for full on sex appeal.
The MAC N Collection/Colour is availble in MAC stores and on the MAC website.
You may have heard of Imogen Heap, either because of her soft and flawless voice or because many of her songs can be heard on tv shows or films.
Take ‘The O.C’ for example, Heap’s songs can be heard in both the memorable season finales of season 2 and season 3. These songs are called ‘Hide and Seek’ and ‘Speeding Cars’. As well as taking her solo artist name she forms part of the band Frou Frou who produced ‘Let Go’ heard on the movie ‘The Holiday’. The album ‘Speak for Youself’ is simply fantastic. The mixture of addictive music sounds are catchy and original. Listen to ‘Hide and Seek’ and ‘Goodnight and Go’ – great tracks.
You can purchase ‘Speak for Yourself’ by Imogen Heap at Amazon for £9.98.

The BBC has confirmed that plans are under way to make their iPlayer compatible to use with the iPhone. It is not clear exactly how this will happen or when but it will bring a whole new level to the iPhone’s capabilities. Rumour has it that we will only have to wait a few weeks for the application, yey!
As an iPhone user myself I am extremely excited about the news and I am sure people are celebrating all around the world! We’ll never have to miss Eastenders again.
More information about the iPhone at the Apple Store.
