Wide Trouser Trend Gets Bigger

Wednesday, December 12th, 2007

Oasis Wide TrousersI for one eat far too much over the festive period and end up regretting finishing off all the choccies when I come to put on my favourite jeans and find they weren’t quite as comfy as they used to be because I’ve swelled like a balloon!

I think most people are guilty of the post-party binge so this new look of the wide leg trouser means you do not have to go easy on the cake after all.

This look is to be worn super baggy at all times whether you choose to wear them on your hips or high waisted. It’s a look to be worn effortlessly with a pair of flats and a t-shirt by day and with shirts and sweaters by night. Whatever you do though do not raid your boyfriends wardrobe for a free pair because believe me they will not fit!!

Topshop Wide TrousersAs per usual the high street has catered for all our needs and has caught on to this growing trend pretty quick. Oasis have this great paid of Tweed high waisted wide leg trousers. They are priced £50.00 and would look fab come day or night.

The ulimate baggy look has been created by Topshop with these Check Belted wide leg trouser. They are a bit more reasonably priced at £40.00 and again are very versatile depending on the event. Both the Oasis and Topshop trouser can be found in store or online.

Kylie Minogue's New Statue

Wednesday, December 12th, 2007

_kylie_minogue_241107.jpgBefore you all jump to conclusions, no not another statue at Madame Tussauds. Our Kylie has had her famous rear immortalised in bronze in a statue that has been unveiled in her home town of Melbourne, Austrailia.

The life-size likeness, complete with lace body stocking and high-heels, will stand alongside fellow Australian entertainment greats in a Hollywood-style Walk of Fame at Melbourne’s Docklands.

Sculptor Peter Corlette took 3 months to fashion the statue and liaised with Kylie’s management to get her exact body measurements, right down to the size of her wrist. So if you ever find yourself down under, be sure to take a look!!

Worlds Most Expensive Lippy

Wednesday, December 12th, 2007

guerlain-kisskiss-diamonds-lipstick.jpgWell ladies, this is a beauty product most of us can only dream about. Kiss Kiss Gold and Diamonds is the first ever $62,000 custom designed lippy.

Guerlain who actually created the first automatic and solid lipstick back in the 1920’s have custom designed this little beauty that is adorned with 110g of solid 18-carat yellow gold and sprinkled with 199 diamonds. The gold encasing can be engraved to add that personal touch for someone special – and lets face it they would have to be extremely special to justify spending a whopping $62,000.

So if you feel the need to quite literally kiss $62,000 away then you will have to include a flight to New York into the budget as you can only buy through private consultations!

Who Will Be No1?

Tuesday, December 11th, 2007

If you’re a music fan you are bound to be at least a little bit interested in the battle for Christmas number one this year. Will it be a classic manufactured pop track or a humorous one-off made to raise money for charity like Bill Nighy’s ‘Christmas is all around’. According to William Hill bookmakers strong contenders include the X factor winners, Leona Lewis and the Sugababes. If you fancy making a bet yourself you can visit to find out more about who’s favorite to reach the top spot. You can also see a list of previous artists to reach Christmas number one here.

Personally I’m not inspired by much in the charts at the moment. I’d love to see a complete random enter the competition with a ridiculous song. One such band called Reuben are aiming to get in the charts this year with a very funny track called ‘Chirstmas is Awesome’. They have obviously put some thought into this and the video is great (see below). The music might not be everyones cup of tea but you’ve got to appreciate the comedy value. I would love to see this at number one this Christmas. You can support Reuben by buying their song from iTunes for less than a pound or if you are a Facebook user you can find more independent artists to support by joining a group like this.

Insolence By Guerlain

Monday, December 10th, 2007

insolence.jpgInsolence is a gorgeous fragrance, worth shouting about.

I am not always swayed by celebrity endorsements so I often skip pages of perfume advertisements when a celebrity is involved, which is probably why I missed Hilary Swank advertising Insolence by Guerlain. I could smell something gorgeous when I was in a rest room last week and had to find out what the sweet scent was. Needless to say the candy, feminine scented perfume that oozes confidence and has an ever lasting smell was in fact Insolence by Guerlain.

Test the fragrance at selected House of Fraser’s, The Perfume Shops and Boots or purchase the 30ml gift set at for £27 including a 75ml body lotion or simply the 30ml fragrance alone for £26.

Pop Art

Sunday, December 9th, 2007

Pop Art DressThe latest Pop Art trend is not for the shy. It’s a trend that had taken off successfully among our a-list friends and boy can they pull it off! You can find the likes of Amy Winehouse, Beyonce and good old Kylie Minogue braving the bold colour combos and popping like pro’s.

This latest trend to take hold is all about boxy, oversized tees and baggy dresses. Pop Art gives you the opportunity to go for bold and daring accessories, but they must be kept to a minimum. Its time to go loud and proud.

I think this stunning dress from Monsoon for £85.00 is a fab example for the high street. It’s got the maxi length to add elegance and the abstract multi-coloured print to create the fun Pop Art.

So it’s clear to me girls that to be bold is to be beautiful – and just in time for the party season!!

The Hills on DVD

Thursday, December 6th, 2007

The Hills Series 1First there was The O.C, a fictional drama series based in the Orange County in California, USA. This was shortly followed by Laguna Beach, The Real Orange County, a reality television series based on the real people living in the Orange County. And then there is the spin off show, where one of the real people who starred in the reality series Laguna Beach, moved to LA, to pursue fashion and that is The Hills.

Lauren Conrad aka LC was one of the main stars of Laguna Beach in both season 1 and 2 so when she left Orange County she took MTV with her and they continued to film her real life in LA. See all the drama that continues when Lauren gets a dream internship, studies fashion, bags a great apartment and socializes at the “be seen” bars and clubs.

Although this DVD is unavailable on region 2 disc, you can purchase both series 1 starting at £11.90 and series 2, starting at £15.04 at which are region 1 DVDs and will play on multi regional DVD players or computers with region 1 format.
