Quai D'Orsay Bronze Leather & Lace Shoes

Tuesday, June 19th, 2007

Quai D'Orsay Bronze Leather SandalsThese ultra-feminine, elegant metallic bronze sandals are sure to make you stand out at a special event or occasion. They are slingback stilettos made from leather, softly coated in black lace. Imagine them with a knee length black dress, black clutch bag and even a graceful hat; a great outfit for the Royal Ascot races taking place this week as well.

The shoes made by Quai D’Orsay will set you back £175.82 but in my opinion they are totally worth it, they are available at Forzieri in sizes 2 to 7.

Eye-Fi: Wi-Fi For Your Digital Camera

Monday, June 18th, 2007

Eye-FiWhenever I take a good set of photographs on my digital camera I always seem to misplace the lead that transfers the images to my PC. By the time I’ve found it, the pictures have either been replaced or wiped and I never seem to get any prints for the album! If you have the same problem then you will probably also be interested to hear that a new Wi-Fi digi cam memory card is being developed. It is known as the Eye-Fi and it aims to cut out the complex stages of transferring images using a cable or card reader. It will therefore mean you can upload the pictures to any computer and start printing or sharing immediately.

The SD memory card is expected to be launched by the end of the year and will hold 2-gig of memory as well as the wireless functionality. You are looking at about £50 for the card and remember to make sure your digital camera supports SD otherwise the card wont fit! More information can be found on the Eye-Fi Website.

Big Brother Update

Monday, June 18th, 2007

Big BrotherShabnam has been evicted, four new men have entered the house, what a week it has been for the Big Brother housemates.

Firstly let’s talk about Shabnam’s eviction, I personally haven’t been a fan of Shabs since she entered the house, all she seemed to do was follow Charley round like a lost lamb, keep people awake at night and look at herself in the mirror. Despite this, I did feel sorry for her when she walked out of the house – it was the most cringe worthy eviction I have ever seen on Big Brother. I have taken the liberty of pasting the clip below in case you missed the event.

We know Shabs likes performing but this was the worst eviction dance ever! She obviously didn’t know how to handle to crowds booing so she went into show mode and did a little dance to try and win them round, Davina had to literally drag her off the stage, it was quite funny but I did feel sorry for her.

We finally have some to men in the house, hopefully some of the attention will be taken off Charley and her arguments so we can watch other footage. All the new men seem really cool but we’ll see if their personalities unfold throughout the week. I think poor Ziggy was a tad jealous and he got a bit insecure on Saturday asking Channelle if she still liked him etc.

Favourite housemates: Carole, Sam, Amanda, Gerry and Brian

Reasons: They are all in the house to learn about other people, have fun and they help out around the house.

Worst housemates: Charley and Nicky

Reasons: Charley cannot hold a conversation without it turning into a heated argument, she has mentioned too many times that everyone is jealous of her because she has the most clothes and shoes – nobody cares. Nicky cannot hold a conversation without whining but I think she’s getting better so she may be out of my bottom two next week.

I predict that Charley, Seany and Laura will be up for eviction this week.

The Feet Treat

Friday, June 15th, 2007

The Feet TreatAfter a hard week what could be better than getting home, putting your feet up and enjoying a nice glass of wine? Well… wrapping your feet in these Feet Treat wraps while you enjoy your wine! They’re designed to be used warm or cold depending on your needs – so if your feet are aching and tense the heat of a warm wrap will help ease them, or if your feet are puffy the coolness of a chilled wrap will leave them feeling soothed.

After a full day shopping or a night out dancing, these wraps are perfect to come home to. You simply need to pop them in the fridge to enjoy them cool, or place them in warm water to enjoy them heated. Make sure you put your feet up and relax while you’re wearing these though – they weren’t designed to take full body weight! Sounds like a good enough excuse to me …

Available for £7.45 (bargain!)

The Friday Update

Friday, June 15th, 2007

  • Big Brother 1st eviction tonight at 9 on channel 4.
  • Paris Hilton has been moved from the medical ward back to her prison cell.
  • Olsen twins turn 21.
  • Beckhams to film their move from London to LA with NBC.
  • Rumours spreading that Christina Aguilera is pregnant.
  • Jennifer Aniston may be adopting.

Leather Mini Tote Bag

Friday, June 15th, 2007

Leather Mini Tote BagWhat a fab new bag from Topshop. Not only does it look stylish, but it comes with grab handles and a detachable cross body strap so it’s also really practical. Without the body strap it looks cute and girly – the perfect accessory to help dress up an outfit.

The soft gold leather makes the bag look expensive, but it can be picked up for the bargain price of £30 over on the Topshop Website. It looks big enough to fit in all the vital make-up, keys, phone, money etc. with plenty of room to spare – you’ll probably be able to fit the detachable strap in too, so if you have a few too many drinks just add the strap so you don’t lose the bag!

How to Look Good Naked's Dark Circle Creams

Wednesday, June 13th, 2007

Benifit EyeconOn this weeks episode of How to Look Good Naked, under eye dark circle creams were the focus of the experiment. Hylexin Dark Circle Cream (£95.00), Benefit Eye Con (£21.50), ROC Hydra+ Destressant Eyes (£11.95) and Boots Time Delay (£7.99) were the four products tested by 100 lovely lady volunteers.

Boots Time DelayHylexin Dark Circle Cream, the most expensive cream by far came in first scoring 54 points of 100, not great for a £95 product! A close 2nd place went to Benefit Eye Con with 50 points. Boots Time Delay was in at 3rd with 49 points and ROC Hydra+ Destressant Eyes scored just 30 points. Overall there were just 5 points between the £95 cream and the £7.99 one – I know which one I would choose!

I am such a fan of this program, I look forward to Tuesday evenings every week. See the How to Look Good Naked section on the Channel 4 Website for more info.

Expanding Jelly Diet Pill

Tuesday, June 12th, 2007

PillItalian scientists are developing a new pill that aims to help people loose weight. When swallowed, the pill turns into a clear blob of jelly-like goo (about the size of a tennis ball) that gives the feeling of fullness due to lack of room in the stomach. The clear gel expands to hold liquid and can soak up 1000 times its weight, it is thought that it will be a similar to a gastric band but obviously no surgery will be needed.

Obesity in the UK is constantly on the rise so the development of a diet pill would be a great invention for future generations and would decrease the number of surgical operations.

Figures show there is an estimated 1 billion overweight adults worldwide, 300 million of whom are classed as obese. The pill is still undergoing many tests to ensure it is utterly safe for consumers, it is not know when or if the pill will be available to those suffering from obesity.

Home Micro-Dermabrasion Kits

Monday, June 11th, 2007

Philosophy Greatest LoveAs I mentioned a while ago, I am a huge fan of the Channel 4 series How to Look Good Naked. Each week journalist Dawn Porter experiments with a range of brands to uncover the best beauty treatment in a specific field. This week the girls were testing home micro-dermabrasion kits, the creams included No 7 Microdermabrasion (£9.50), Lancome (£46.00), Philosophy Greatest Love (£20.00) and Renew You Micro-Dermabrasion Face Masque (£1.49).

What is Microdermabrasion? It is a facial skin treatment and technique that helps repair the skin after years of sun exposure and the effects of aging. There are so many creams available it is hard to know which one is the best value for money, Dawn and her experiment with 100 girls concluded with these results.

1st: Lancome – 68 points out of 100.
2nd: Philosophy Greatest Love – 64 points out of 100.
3rd: No 7 Microdermabrasion – 60 points out of 100.
4th: Renew You Micro-dermabrasion Face Masque – 56 points out of 100.

In this particular experiment the most expensive product proved to be the best but only by 4 points. So it is up to you to decide, is it worth spending an extra £36 on something that only scored 8 points more than its rival No 7? I’d personally go for the 2nd place kit – Philosophy Greatest Love for £20.

How to Apply Liquid Eyeliner

Monday, June 11th, 2007

I struggle with eyeliner and usually just resort to a pencil because I can’t ever apply my liquid liner perfectly. However, I have just found a video over at Video Jug that demonstrates how you should apply it in order to get the best results.

VideoJug: How To Apply Liquid Eyeliner

This is the first time I have seen Video Jug, it’s very similar to YouTube but they have a whole section dedicated to beauty and style with videos related to hair, make-up, nails and they have some great fashion tips. There’s no need to purchase a make-up lesson when all the advice you need is posted here.
