So Big Brother 8 begins tonight. I’m not too sure how I feel about another series; part of me doesn’t want to start watching for fear of becoming addicted and turning into a social recluse for the entire summer, but part of me is curious to see this years bunch of “hopefuls”.

I’m also still a bit put off by what happened with Jade Goody, Shilpa Shetty etc. and all the bad press, but I know curiosity will probably win and I’ll end up watching anyway! It’s strange to think the housemates are currently just like any other strangers, but in a few hours they’ll be recognised forever (or at least a few years anyway!)

I was pleased to see an expensive product win last night’s How To Look Good Naked competition, after the last three episodes began to prove you pay for branding and not the product itself. Last night it was moisturisers with fake tan that were put to the test, and Make Believe Tan Extender (£25) scored highest with 75 points out of a possible 100.

However, Olay Everyday Sunshine (£5.99) came in at second place and scored 72 points out of a possible 100 – only 3 points behind the winner. So my conclusion? If you’re looking for a cheap tanning moisturiser that works almost as well as one five times its price, opt for Olay’s version.

I was quite surprised to see a face cream make headline news when I picked up a copy of the Metro the other day. There has been a lot of hype surrounding a new face cream made by boots called No7 Protect and Perfect. The cream was tested by scientists and findings where published in the US medical journal. Apparently when applied to the lower arms of participants, scores indicated that wrinkles were significantly reduced. The product also featured in a recent BBC documentary and was actually endorsed by the programme.

So what does this cream contain that actually works? Well as some of you might be aware it has been proven that retin A has some effect on wrinkles but to get this in the required strength you usually need a perscription from your doctor. The serum contains a pro-retinol complex which enhances the power of vitamin A. Well known dermatologist Nick Lowe said in the Metro “This is the first scientific evidence that retinol A cream can have an impact on wrinkles – but creams do take time to work.’ In fact the cream has been in such demand that the Boots Website has been limiting purchases to one per customer, so hurry before they run out!

How do the people at irregular choice do it?! Surely there are only so many designs for a shoe possible. I wonder if they will ever run out. They obviously haven’t yet; their new 2007 summer range is quirkier than ever.

I’m in love with these pink booties but I haven’t found a place to buy them yet. I’ll be emailing them as soon as I have finished writing on this blog to find out where I can get hold of a pair. Hopefully somewhere in the UK – and I’ll let you know when they get back to me.

Summer is approaching and it’s time to get serious about protecting your eyes again. I actually wear sunglasses right through the winter but I’m glad I can walk around my home town without looking like a wannabe film star again. I think I definitely deserve a couple of new pairs as a treat from being so good!

My favourite brand for sun glasses are still Dolce and Gabbana. I love their more distinctive styles and I really like my glasses to make a statement. I found pair which are actually quite understated compared to my usual taste but I think they are really chic and summery and at £100 they are also cheaper than most designer glasses I own. Poor Tyra, 33 always seems to be criticised by the press about her weight issues. Like most girls she struggles to keep a trim figure with the stress of life and work and her weight tends to yoyo quite often.
New pictures of Tyra have just been released showing her go from 170 lbs to 140 lbs and losing an amazing 5 inches off her waistline. She looks fantastic and appears much more confident than before.

I wonder how many people will be heading off to the cinema tonight to catch the newly released Pirates Of The Caribbean 3: At World’s End? The trailer below shows Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightly) on a quest to free Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) at world’s end.

The trailer does look exciting; I love the dramatic music! The film itself is 2 hours 48 mins – I’m not sure I could sit at the cinema for that amount of time! Make sure you get lots of popcorn and go to the loo first if you go and see this …
