Dermot – Have You Got The X Factor?

Wednesday, April 11th, 2007

X Factor LogoSimon Cowell has sacked Louis Walsh and Kate Thornton from The X Factor and head hunted Dermot O’Leary to host this year’s show instead. The Big Brother presenter is sure to keep us all entertained with his quirky humour and dazzling smile and don’t worry, he is still set to present Big Brother’s Little Brother as well.

It is a shame that Kate was asked to leave because she has presented the popular ITV show since the very beginning, apparently she was very shocked and upset because Simon had insinuated that she would be hosting the 2007 event.

If you fancy yourself as the next Leona Lewis and want to meet Dermot and the team then you can apply for The X Factor 2007 by filling out their application form.

Christian Louboutin Sexy Platform Heels

Wednesday, April 11th, 2007

Christian Louboutin HeelsIt’s quite a contrast to match cork platform heels with nude patent leather but these sexy Christian Louboutin shoes have managed to pull it off well. I love the way the straps don’t end at the top of the platform too; it’s unusual to see the platform covered up by the leather, but this works really well too.

At $740 these are some expensive heels, but if I had that kind of money to spend on shoes, these would definitely be top of my list. The two straps in the center of the shoe, coming down in a triangular shape towards the front, finish these off with a touch of elegance. Just right for a night out this summer … if only I was rich!

Celebs Show Off Catwalk Style

Tuesday, April 10th, 2007

Stars in Catwalk OutfitsMischa Barton, Lindsay Lohan and Cameron Diaz all show off their catwalk style by stepping out in these outfits straight from the runway. My personal favourite is Mischa’s bright beaded dress by Christian Dior that she got to wear just one day after it was modelled at the fashion show. The colour and style of the dress looks great on her, but then is there anything she doesn’t look good in?

DARE Magazine & Rimmel Magnif'Eyes Mascara

Thursday, April 5th, 2007

Rimmel Magnif'Eyes MascaraI’m not usually one to bother with new magazines, I normally stick to me good old faithful Cosmopolitan, but something made by buy this months issue of DARE – I’d never heard of it before and wanted to see what I could get for my 45p.

I’m pleased to say I was actually impressed with the articles, advice and gossip – for such a cheap magazine they certainly packed it full with interesting info! This was the launch issue so I’ll be curious to see how much next months issue will be, and if it will gradually become crowded with adverts like all the others.

I’ve even gone out and bought myself the £7 mascara on the cover (Rimmel Magnif’Eyes Mascara) – which is apparently loved by Victoria Beckham; I want to see for myself if the ‘adds serious definition without clumping’ is true or if this magazine shouldn’t be trusted! I’ll let you know when I’ve tried it out …

Donna Karan Gold

Thursday, April 5th, 2007

Donna Karan Gold EDTIf you’re looking for a fresh, sunny spring day fragrance to welcome in the new season, Donna Karan Gold could be it. The scent revolves round Casablanca Lily and Amber, creating a sexy, passionate aroma – which BeautyExpert describes as ‘a burst of fresh flowers’.

What caught my eye was the beautiful, elegant bottle. Created by jewellery designer Robert Lee Morris, it resembles real gold and looks very stylish and classy. At £65 for 100ml, the fragrance doesn’t come cheap but you really do get what you pay for. There’s also a 150ml body lotion available for £29 if you don’t want to spend that much on the Eau de Parfum.

Sleep Under the Stars with Star Murals

Tuesday, April 3rd, 2007

Star Murals I recently came across this unique artwork by startist Rip Read and thought how amazing it would be to have on my bedroom ceiling. I love stars and the mysteries of the universe and think this would be the perfect surrounding for me to drift off to sleep under. The art he creates are called Star Murals – 5D art that resembles the real night sky, stars twinkle and move; you may even spot a shooting star if you’re lucky.

The great thing about his art is that the night time effects are bright and mesmerising but during the day the whole setting is invisible to the human eye. All designs are hand drawn therefore each Star Mural is completely original. He draws galaxies, nebulas, meteors, comets and star clusters in many different ways, see Rip Read’s Website for photographs and more information about this unique art that seems to be catching on around the world. He is also working on a clothing range in the same style as the ceiling art – now that sounds interesting!

Dune Sandals in the Style of Lily Allen

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

Dune Chequered SandalsLook Magazine published a picture of Lily Allen wearing sandals in a very similar style to these from YSL. I thought they were absolutely fantastic but a little too expensive for me. They also showed these sandals from Dune next to the picture which are a little more within my price range but still £75. I am holding out on Primark in the hope they launch a similar version very soon.

The cork platform and heal make the shoe a little more casual meaning you can wear them during the day with a pair of crops or in the evening with a cute summer dress. Dune have a great range of sandals on their website, some really summery and some really dressy.
