Welcome to my World by Coleen

Wednesday, March 7th, 2007

Welcome to My World by ColeenI have to admit that I’m quite a fan of Coleen, not only is she probably the most down to earth out of all the WAG’s but she’s also the only one (apart from Posh of course) known by her first name alone. She has transformed from a shy schoolgirl in that unforgettable blue puffer jacket into a gorgeous young woman and has really made a name for herself.

OK so let’s face facts, if she wasn’t Wayne Rooney’s girlfriend, now fiancé it’s highly unlikely that she would have landed a modelling contract or been able to strut around with a new Chloe or Fendi bag every day. However, I think she deserves her success after all she hasn’t exactly had a smooth relationship with Wayne and she seems like a really nice girl.

She recently launched her new book ‘Welcome to My World’ and I am just about to buy it from Amazon for £6.75 – a bargain I think. When I have read it, I’ll let you know if it’s worth buying, if you have already read the book please let us know your opinions on Coleen.

Justin Timberlake What Comes Around

Monday, March 5th, 2007

There seems to be a trend of turning adverts and music videos into mini films, the ones that spring to mind are the Channel advert with Nichole Kidman and the Greenday video to Wake Me Up When September Ends. I really like this in music videos, it gives the song a story and makes me listen harder to the lyrics as they become part of the story. I usually completely ignore them, unless i want to learn them to sing out loud whilst doing the hoovering.

The video to Justine Timberlake’s “what comes around” lasts a full 9 and a half minutes and stars Scarlet Johanson, as Justin’s girlfriend. The song is so sexy and the video is actually more entertaining than any film that I can think of watching recently, Check it out!

Improve Your Mind On The Loo?

Monday, March 5th, 2007

Mind Trainer Loo RollThis is a bit of a strange concept but I guess there’s never a bad time to work those brain cells – the more you use your mind the quicker it will think (apparently) so instead of staring at the bathroom wall wasting precious time when you’re sitting on the loo, why not get your mind onto the loo roll instead?

The Mind Trainer Loo Roll has ten different puzzles/games imprinted onto it, including Sudoku, Ladders and mental arithmatec - just make sure you keep a pen stored in your bathroom. Don’t let yourself leave the loo until you’ve finished the puzzle – you’re mind will be sharper in no time!

Top 100 Shoes!

Friday, March 2nd, 2007

Firetrap Lime Green Peep ToesHandbag.com have a great feature on their website on the top 100 shoes available – the lime green peep toes from Firetrap are my personal favourites, although I have to admit that these double buckle shoes from Miu Miu caught my eye too!

The pair to the left are available for £75 – there’s something about the way the peep toe curls up to reveal just a small glimpse of your toes that makes these so appealing. I also love the colour for spring and the cute bow at the back. I couldn’t find these on Firetrap’s website, but you can ring 0208 421 7070 to purchase them.

There are loads of other fab shoes too, let me know your favourites!

Easter Tatty Teddy

Friday, March 2nd, 2007

Easter Tatty TeddyI just came across this limited edition Tatty Teddy on the Clinton Cards website and just had to write about it. It is quite possibly the cutest teddy I’ve ever seen and would make a fantastic Easer gift, especially for those who prefer not to have chocolate at Easter. The bear costs £18 and comes dressed in a gorgeous little chick costume made from soft yellow fabric. The hood of the costume even has eyes and a darker yellow beak.

Clintons have quite a few Easter teddy bears this year, some costing as little as £4.50, they also have a number of bears for Mother’s Day which is coming up on Sunday 18th March. See the Clintons Website for full details about Tatty Teddies for all occasions.

Ice Cream For Your Bath?

Friday, March 2nd, 2007

Ice Cream Body WashIce cream has got to be one of my weaknesses, no matter how full I am there’s always room for ice cream. However I’m not sure how I feel about Ice Cream Body Wash – it might smelly yummy but I don’t know if I’d want to wash in it! This body wash from Bomb Cosmetics comes in three different “flavours” – Raspberry Blower, Chilla Vanilla and Mint Choc Nips.

Apparently the body wash contains essential oils and moisturising Shea Butter so it’s good for nourishing your skin as well as smelling tasty. I wonder if I’d be able to resist tasting a sample though?

The View - Same Jeans

Friday, March 2nd, 2007

I heard this song a couple of weeks ago but didn’t know of the band until now. They are called The View and I have absolutely fallen for this indie rock song Same Jeans. It reminds me of Brimful of Asher by Cornershop but I think I prefer these lyrics. The band is from Dundee, Scotland and consists of Kyle, Kieren, Peter and Steven. Their album is called Hats Off to the Buskers and was released on 22nd January. Have a listen a see what you think.

Want A Stress Free Life?

Friday, March 2nd, 2007

StressEraserMy life is pretty stress free at the moment but there have been times when I’ve been so stressed I’ve wanted to pack my bags and run away to a faraway place, leaving everything that was making me crazy behind – I’m sure most people have felt that way at some point or another, and if you haven’t you’re among the lucky few! If stress is a constant part of your life this StressEraser claims to offer sufferers relief by focusing the mind and guiding breathing.

I’m usually wary about these kinds of gadgets, they remind me of products on cheesy adverts that you know will never work but buy anyway - just in case. However this little gadget seems to be the real thing (although I’m still yet to try it) - it won the Frost & Sullivan’s 2006 Medical Industry Award for Technological Innovation, which doesn’t mean it’s a miracle cure but it does give it some credibility at least.

The hand held device tracks your stress levels on the screen and after a 15 minute session claims to reduce stress levels. Obviously you have to use it more than once for a lasting effect and it doesn’t come cheap at $299.95, but if it actually helps you gain control of stress I don’t think this is a large price to pay.

Eye Shadow Tip

Thursday, March 1st, 2007

Eye ShadowWhile watching Ten Years Younger last week I picked up a really good beauty tip from make-up artist Ruby Hammer. She gave an example of how most women apply their eye shadow and then demonstrated how to do it properly. I was making the same mistake of placing the brush close to my nose and stoking outwards which always left a dark smudge by my nose. If you start your stroke on the part of you eyelid furthest from your nose and stoke inwards, majority of the colour will be applied on the outer areas and gives a much more even appearance.

I have been using the same technique all this week and it makes such a difference; I will never go back to my old habits when applying eye shadow.
