St Tropez Everyday

Thursday, February 8th, 2007

St Tropez EverydayLast summer the range of moisturising products with a hint of fake tan hit the stores with force. So much so that good old faithful St Tropez was pushed aside in favour of these cheaper alternatives.

Well I’m happy to say that St Tropez is back on form this year, with their own Everyday version – they have mixed their moisturiser with a bit of their tanning solution to create a subtle bronzed look, suitable for everyday use. So whether you want to build your tan up slowly, or apply as a top up between applications, this will have you looking golden brown in no time.

Perhaps it’s not the right time to be thinking about fake tan (with all the snow outside) but personally I can’t wait for the sun and think it’s never too early to prepare for that bronzed beach babe look! St Tropez Everyday is currently available for £12.95

Super Slim Me

Wednesday, February 7th, 2007

Super Slim MeTonight at 9.00pm on BBC Three there is a program on called Super Slim Me: A Mischief Special. The program follows writer and TV presenter Dawn Porter on a journey to discover what it takes to become a super slim Hollywood size zero. At a curvy UK size 12 Dawn is limited to a mere 500 calories per day in order to get down to her desired size.

The story shows her struggle with insomnia, exhaustion and lack of energy due to reduced nutrients in her diet throughout the two months; I am looking forward to seeing her full story.

In my opinion the program is a fantastic idea to prove that getting down to a super slim size is not in any way easy or healthy.

Motorola KRZR K1 and K1m

Wednesday, February 7th, 2007

Motorola KRZR K1Motorola came into a new light when they released their RAZR mobile technology; they where thinner, sleeker and much more stylish than any other Motorola models. Now they have introduced the KRZR K1 and the KRZR K1m to continue the popular style of the RAZR. The phones are slightly narrower than the RAZR at only 42mm wide and weigh only 3.6 ounces.

The K1 consists of a 2-megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom and the K1m has a 1.3-megapixel camera, they feature a full built in media suite and super slim technology. It doesn’t really matter how great the phones function or how advanced they are, many people will buy these models purely based on their stylish designs.

Bianca Gascoigne Loses 2 Stone

Monday, February 5th, 2007

At the weekend I read an article in MCelebs, the Sunday Mirror magazine about Bianca Gascoigne and her experience on Love Island. The title ‘Bitching on Love Island Forced me to lose 2 Stone’ shows stunning new photographs of the 20 year old after she lost all the weight she gained on Love Island.

Being away from home caused Bianca to get homesick and she ate for comfort and drank plenty of cocktails. After a comment fellow islander Alicia made about her weight gain, Bianca got home and has stuck to a healthy diet and exercise program to get the weight back off. The comment Alicia bitched ‘You’re one cupcake away from obesity’ is enough to make anyone really upset, Bianca has shown her how fantastic she can really look.

Blood Diamond

Friday, February 2nd, 2007

I have watched many films in the last year but I feel this one really deserves a mention. The plot is about a diamond specialist in New York City but the storyline focuses on how the diamonds are found and exported for the rich to buy.

Africa is in a state of chaos, the rebels have risen up against the government and are battling to change the way Africa is run but not for the better. The heartless rebels take over innocent towns by either killing or kidnapping all the civilians leaving nothing but ruins. The rulers of the rebel army are sick and twisted and take pleasure in watching others in pain or begging for their lives. Hundreds of thousands of people have lost their homes and members’ of their family.

The story follows the fascinating adventure of father of three Solomon Vandy (Djimon Hounsou) born and raised in Sierra Leone, Africa. Solomon is kidnapped and forced to work as a slave, diamond searching in the rivers. He comes across a diamond like no other and buries it under the soil. Danny Archer (Leonardo DiCaprio) a dishonest diamond smuggler hears about Solomon and they join forces to find the diamond, get Solomon’s family back and to get Danny out of Africa.

Danny and Solomon’s love hate relationship brings unexpected twists to the film and of course Leonardo DiCaprio has a love interest – a journalist desperately trying to help the civilians called Maddy (Jennifer Connelly).

The part of the film that really got to me was the child soldiers; young boys snatched from their homes and trained as killing machines. Although I know this is only a film, there are still thousands of children in Africa forced to take on a similar role.

I came out of the cinema feeling tearful and choked as never before had I understood what life in Africa is truly like. Although you will feel completely saddened by the storyline it is definitely a film I would recommend.

The Final Chapter of Harry Potter Ready To Pre-order

Friday, February 2nd, 2007

Harry Potter and the Deathly HallowsHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in now available for pre-order on Amazon. The publisher has announced a release date of July 21st, which should excite Harry Potter fans around the world. This is the seventh and final chapter of the popular series and speculation continues as to which character will die. The announcement came quickest on J.K Rowling’s site and simply read:

“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be published on Saturday 21st July 2007 at 00:01 BST in the UK and at 00:01 in the USA. It will also be released at 00:01 BST on Saturday 21st July in other English speaking countries around the world”.

There are two editions available – Standard and Deluxe. J.K Rowling is rumoured to have made $1 billion since Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone was published nine years ago – I wonder if she ever thought that would be possible when writing the first chapter in that little coffee shop?
