I don’t know about you but I seem to miss Pancake Day every year and usually end up having them the day after. Well not this year because in case you didn’t know it’s Pancake Day today. I admit that I did actually have some pancakes last Tuesday by accident but never mind I can have them again tonight.
My favourite recipe has to be lemon, sugar and chocolate ice cream, this reminds me of when I go skiing in France and we stop off for a crepe. Let me know your favourite dishes so we can get some ideas for tonight.
If you’re unsure how to make pancakes there’s a great basic recipe for lemon and sugar pancakes at the BBC Food website.

It’s pretty normal to find a sellotape dispenser or a USB hub lying around the office so the person responsible for combining the two is no less than a genius – we all use sellotape and most of us could do with a few extra USB ports after all.
The Tape Dispenser With Ports Hub was actually created by Earth-Trek, a company based in Hong Kong and is available in a variety of colours (although this funky red, green, yellow and grey has to be my favourite). You can also put your own company’s logo onto it, which I must admit I’m pretty impressed with!

I’ve always been more of a bath than shower girl so these Spa Lights would be perfect for me. I can just imagine cracking open a bottle of wine, turning on some music and relaxing for hours in my own private little spa … heaven.
These waterproof Spa Lights can stick to the bottom and sides of your bath or shower, or just float in the water like candles. There is a choice of Original lights (which glow yellow) or the new Colour Phasing lights (which softly change colour from red, green, blue, pink and yellow). The Spa Lights are available as a pack of 2 or 6 and one set of batteries will keep them glowing for 120 hours – that’s 5 solid days of luxury.

I had to write about this when I saw it … just because it’s pink! I also think it would make a cute little pressie for a geeky computer mate and brighten up her dull office desk. Plus the freedom of having a wireless mouse makes life so much easier – no longer will the twisted cable get caught in all the desk junk or tie itself in knots every afternoon when it’s time to leave.
The Pink PC Kit is available from Find Me A Gift for £17.99, and if you’re not impressed with this then they have loads of other pink gifts such as the pink toolbox, the pink car kit and the pink gym kit. If you love pink, you’ll love these gifts!

I know there are loads of USB gadgets out there (cup warmers, fans, massagers etc etc), but on a cold winters day like today I think these USB foot warmers deserve a mention. Imagine getting to your office, kicking off your stilettos and sliding your chilly feet into these snug foot warmers – they would definitely make working feel more relaxed and give your feet some TLC.
The slippers are kept warm through a heat panel under the lining of the base – as soon as the warmers are plugged into a USB port the panel will heat up to a comfy temperature and remain that warm until unplugged. The panel can be removed when you need to wash your warmers. They look so warm and soft … I’ll definitely be getting me a pair of these!
Available from Gadget Shop for £14.95

On the evening of Valentines Day I was lucky enough to be treated to a mini break at the Woodlands Park Hotel in Cobham, Surrey. The hotel is owned by the Hand Picked chain and I must say it was absolutely beautiful. Last year we visited Rhinefield House in the New Forest from the same chain and I enjoyed my stay at both hotels.
The outside and the community areas are extremely traditional with old paintings on the walls and vintage wall paper and furnishings. The bedrooms however have been fully refurbished and are very modern and very luxurious. You have the choice of a deluxe room, an executive room, a family room, a master suite or a junior suite, all of which are lovely.
We opted for the Valentine’s Day package which consisted of an executive room, a five course evening meal, breakfast and champagne and chocolates on arrival. Many couples had taken advantage of the same offer and boys if you’re reading this – it is definitely something you could consider for next Valentine’s Day. I felt totally spoilt!
Take a look at the Hand Picked website for more information about Woodlands Park and the other Hand Picked Hotels.

Every month or so I get bored of my lip gloss and buy a new one to try. Well these LORAC Mocktails are definitely on my list for the next couple of months at least – not only are they gorgeous colours, but they taste like tropical drinks - perfect! There are about 10 different flavours to try, so when you get bored of one colour and flavour, swap over to another.
Flavours available are Caffeini Martini (glimmering rose brown), Chi Chi (sheer glimmering pearl), Guava Tiki (sheer peachy pink), Lava Flow (sheer glimmering berry), Maui Mai Tai (pink sheen), Peach Passion (tan shimmer), Razberi Cosmo (deep rose), Sex On The Beach (fuschia) and Tequila Sunrise (glimmering tangerine).
What a choice! They’re also pretty reasonably priced at $18 each. If you’d like to see more products for kissable lips check out Lipstick, Powder ‘n Paint.

Wide legged jeans are becoming increasingly popular as Winter moves into Spring – I’ve seen loads of celebs wearing them recently, including Kylie Minogue and Kate Moss to name a few. High-waisted, wide jeans have replaced the skinny jeans we have seen in recent seasons, although you don’t have to go too wide to get the look right.
These jeans are available for £35 over on ASOS and I think they look pretty great with high shoes and a casual top. For more ideas of where to buy these wide legged jeans take a look at Shopahaulic.

So Valentines Day has come and gone, I wonder how many couples spent the night arguing because one of them forgot – if that was your man remember to start dropping the hints earlier next year! Also, remind him that next year’s pressie has to make up for missing this year too. I’ve just been over on What’s Haute and found a gift that would definitely make up for any forgetfulness – the Gold Heart Bag from Diane von Furstenburg. At $36,000 I don’t think many of us will ever be with a man who can afford it, but we can dream …
The bag is handmade by a master goldsmith, who spent a two month time period creating it. It’s lined with black suede, has a love-knot clasp and measures 6” in diameter – I think I can safely say that I’ll never own a bag this expensive … unless I win the lottery!
If you’re lucky enough to be able to spare $36,000 on this then head over to this website– and send me your email address as I’d love to get to know you better!!

I have been fascinated with the size zero craze for some time now, I have watched celebrities such as Victoria Beckham in the news and listened to many opinions on the subject. I personally think it’s an unhealthy, unattractive, irresponsible obsession and celebrities are setting a very bad example to their fans.
I was interested to hear that size zero models might be banned from the catwalks and I think this is an excellent idea. Not only would it set a better example to the public, it would also encourage the models to put on a bit of weight if they wanted to remain in the show. Surely this idea would be better for everyone’s sake.
Any model with a BMI of less than 18 has been banned from the catwalks in Madrid and organisers of London Fashion Week were asked to implement the same rules. This however meant that top models such as Lily Cole and Eric O’connor would be out of the show. London Fashion Week is now under way, there are still size zero models on the catwalk and no sign that the super-skinny craze will end any time soon.

So once again it’s Valentine’s Day, the day where all boyfriends are supposed to reveal their romantic side and spoil us girls rotten. Alternatively if you’re single, it’s the day that either gets you really excited about a potential new relationship or makes you even more depressed about your love life.
So what is it for you girls? Has your boyfriend surprised you with a romantic dinner for two, a bunch of red roses or something else special that you weren’t expecting, or have you received any anonymous valentines cards or gifts. Let me know – I’d love to hear your stories.
If you didn’t receive anything, I suggest you hit the shops after work and treat yourself to a new pair of shoes. This will be sure to make you happier than any man can on Valentine’s Day.

This sleek, lightweight laptop is perfect for us girlies – the baby pink does it for me. Not only does it look great, but it also comes with Intel’s new Core Duo mobile processor, a 100 Gb hard drive and a Dual Layer DVD ReWriter MultiDrive, which means there’s loads of space for photos, music or videos – just what laptops are for I think.
It’s not the cheapest design around (at £649.99) but there’s no compromise on performance and the widescreen display will make watching your fav film all that more enjoyable.

As I watched the BBC news this morning, a report on new rules enforced by British Airways (BA) caught my attention. As of next week, passengers checking in more than one piece of luggage will be charged for the additional bags. UK Domestic customers will be charged £30 per extra bag, customers travelling short haul will have to pay £60 and customers travelling long haul will have to pay £120. Travellers to the US, Caribbean, Brazil, Mexico, Canada and Nigeria are exempt from the new rules and will be allowed two bags per person.
If the fees apply to you then obviously it is best to limit your luggage to one bag before you get to the airport. The maximum weight for economy class is 23 kg. If you feel this is simply impossible then you can apply for discounts online which will cut the cost by approximately 30%, this is available until September but it is unclear how to do this on their website.
Read more about BA baggage information at their website.

Now that everything has gone digital it is harder to share those photo snaps with your friends without turning on your laptop or huddling round the tiny camera display. However, with a digital photo frame you can take the memory card out of the camera and insert it into the frame creating an automatic slideshow for everyone to see.
We wrote about these photo frames a little while ago but the only one’s we could find were rather expensive (over £250), this one is currently selling for just £35 at Ebuyer. The frame supports SD and MMC cards, has a 7 inch display and is really easy to operate. The mantelpiece will look so much more interesting with a series of family photos rather than just one still image.

So Valentines Day is less than a week away - if you need to drop some subtle hints then now’s probably the time to start. Don’t want to end up with another homemade card and flowers from the front garden after all.
GadgetCandy have kindly put together a line-up of glam gadgets this year – from a sexy red iPod nano to a digital photo frame that means you don’t have to stare at the same photos all day.
The valentine’s gifts range from £17 to £1000 so there’s something for everyones budget – and if the hints fail then at least you can convince yourself you deserve to buy something for yourself!
