Zip up wallpaper?

Friday, August 25th, 2006

Zip up wallpaperApparently this designer (Samantha Johnson) has cleverly sewn a zip into a length of wallpaper – under which lays a contrasting layer of wallpaper. The zip can be fully ‘zipped up’ or undone to reveal as much or as little as the colours behind.

Her other designs include wallpaper with sequins, crystals and buttons (with their very own button holes!) – Amazing. I can imagine this being a favourite with young people who wish to cover up what’s really up on the bedroom wall…

Animal Print Clutch Bag

Thursday, August 24th, 2006

Animal Print Clutch BagThis clutch bag is simple and cute – a perfect accessory to bring to life a plain black outfit. I especially like the contrasting pink lining inside, although it does look as though it would be easy to stain with make-up (which is how I ruin the majority of my bags).

I doubt you’d be able to fit much in it, but if you’re not the kind of person who thinks about the practical side of bags then this one’s definitely for you. Available from ASOS for £15 – and there are even some matching court shoes for £35 if you’re loving the animal print this season.

Cat Hammock

Thursday, August 24th, 2006

Cat HammockThe more I think about it the more I wish I was a cat. All they do is sleep and eat and sleep some more and eat some more – heaven. And now they get their own kitty hammock (for more sleeping). What a blissful life.

This Cat Hammock has two different sleep surfaces – one for the hotter months and one for the cooler months. The 100% 600-Denier polyester side is for keeping your kitty cool in the hotter months and the reverse side is covered in a sherpa faux fur fabric to keep in the warmth during the cooler months.

The hammock is removable and washable and available for $39.95. I know what my little kitty will be getting this Christmas …

Rediscovering London

Buckingham Palace

All my life ive lived close to London but I have never visited some the major attractions like London Zoo and Madam Tussauds. I think I must be really missing something seeing as so many tourists come especially to see these famous attractions. So, as of this weekend, im going to promise myself that I am going to visit London once a month and experience some of the things right under my nose and report back to you on the most interesting attractions and the best value for money days out in London. Buckingham place seems like a good place as any to start. I’ve just found a good deal on www.lastminute.com. for only £30 you can get admission to Buckingham Place including, state rooms and gardens (usually 14 pounds) and champagne afternoon tea at the newly refurbished Windsor lounge of the 5 star Athenaeum Hotel (usually £28 pounds). I’m going to be there this Saturday stuffing myself, in the most elegant manor possible, with scones and cucumber sandwiches.

Binary Clock

Binary Clock

This clever clock from iwantoneofthose.com is a must have for any computer wizard. It displays the time in Binary represented by lit up dots. Who would fail to be impressed by someone who can interpret seemingly random placed blue dots as the time in minutes hours and seconds? This mains powered clock has three brightness settings and can display the time in 24hour, or for the lightweights, 12 hour format. For those that wish they could take this beauty down the pub with them to impress the girls there is a Binary Watch which works on the same principle. It’s a great way to exercise your brain but check out the reviews on iwantoneofthose.com for cheats on telling the time!

Hair polish?

Thursday, August 24th, 2006

Hair PolishHair serum I understand, hairspray – yes, and hair wax – yes, but hair polish? Especially hair polish that comes in a compact that looks as though it contains powder? But I’m willing to give it a shot; my hair could definitely do with trying out a new product.

Apparently this hair polish from Charles Worthington illuminates and highlights the colours in your hair while adding texture and sheen to your style. Plus it fits easily into your handbag, which other hair products simply refuse to do – brilliant.

Available from Boots for £5.99

So cute!

Wednesday, August 23rd, 2006

I just had to put this on – this little kitty is so cute! Half way through it does look as though he’s not going to wake back up again – but thankfully he does!

Mango Waistcoat

Wednesday, August 23rd, 2006

Mango WaistcoatMango currently has a whole new range of tailored jackets suitable for all types of occasions and English weather. This cute cream jacket (if you can call it a jacket) is clearly more of a fair weather top but looks great with a pair jeans or shorts if you’re off on a night out. I absolutely love the delicate detail and stitching and if I were a couple of dress sizes smaller I would snap this little beauty up straight away.

The waistcoat is only £12 reduced from £25 – what a bargain. Check out the other jackets by visiting the Mango Website. They also have a whole range of items and accessories at reduced offers.

White Trash Charms – Everbody’s wearing them

Wednesday, August 23rd, 2006

White Trash CharmsIf you flick through any fashion magazine you will probably come across the new celeb fad of White Trash Charms. Stars such as Christina Aguilera, Jessica Simpson, Gwen Stefani and Britney are all wearing them but I’m not sure if the public will catch on. The charms are mainly silver and gold and the shapes are all very basic with no markings or detail on the actual body. The charm to the left is my favourite as worn by Patricia Field, Kim Catrall, Pink, Ashton Kutcher and Britney Spears according to the official White Trash Website. Some of their charms are more detailed and more colourful if you think these are a little too plain.

Their newest collections entitled True Romance and WTC Golden Ticket (a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Golden Ticket) are now up for grabs ranging from $99 to $375. If you are interested in owning a charm from White Trash Charms visit their website to see what ones the celebs are wearing.

EQ-400 Ergo Pad Foot Massager

Wednesday, August 23rd, 2006

EQ-400 Ergo Pad Foot MassagerI remember reading somewhere that it’s essential to look after your feet – just think how much you use them every single day without even realising. So I think purchasing a foot massager is completely justified – it’s for the good of your health. Well this is what I will continue to tell myself anyway …

This Ergo foot massager is contoured to find known acupressure nodes and bring relief to strained feet. The massager features a four speed motor and you can even use your own tailor-made massage programme.

Available for approximately $159.95 from The Factory Outlet
